Share Media, Files or Contacts

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required to send and receive media, links, and contacts.
  • Permissions: Ensure to allow Arattai to access your device's camera, photos, files, and contacts. 

How to Share Media Files  

You can easily share different types of content directly within a chat.
Note: Each media file you share on Arattai can be up to 1GB. 

From Gallery/Photos

  • Open the chat where you want to share media.
  • Tap the  attachment icon in the message bar.
  • A panel will appear displaying the media on your device.
  • To select a single item, tap on it. To select multiple items, you have two options:
    • Tap a single media, then tap the  add media icon on the preview screen to go back to your gallery. You can now select multiple items. Tap  Next to continue.
    • Alternatively, tap and hold on a media to enter multi-select mode. 
  • You can select up to 100 media files at once.
  • You can edit images in the preview screen or add a caption for any media if needed.
  • Tap the  send icon to send the files.

iOS
  • Open the chat where you want to share media.
  • Tap the  plus icon in the message bar.
  • A panel will appear displaying the media on your device. 
  • Your Recents folder will be displayed by default, you can switch folders by tapping the  drop down icon.
  • To select a single item, tap on it. To select multiple items, you have two options:
    • Tap a single media, then tap the  add media icon on the preview screen to go back to your gallery. You can now select multiple items.
    • Alternatively, tap and hold on a media, tap Select to enter multi-select mode. tap Next to continue. 
  • You can select up to 50 media files at once.
  • You can edit images or trim videos in the preview screen or add a caption below if needed.
  • Tap the  send icon to send the files.


Web
  • Open the chat where you want to share media.
  • Click the  attachment icon in the message bar.
  • Select and open one or more media files.
    Alternatively, you can click the  plus icon on the preview screen to add more media from your computer.
  • You can edit images in the preview screen or add a caption for any media if needed.
  • Click the  send icon to send the files.

 Using the Camera

  • Open the chat where you want to share media.
  • Tap the   attachment icon in the message bar.
  • Tap the camera view.
  • Take a photo or record a video.
    To take multiple photos or videos, tap the  camera icon to open the camera again.
  • You can edit images in the preview screen or add a caption for any media if needed.
  • Tap the  send icon to send the files.

  • Open the chat where you want to share media.
  • Tap the  plus icon in the message bar.
  • Tap the camera view.
  • Take a photo or record a video.
    To take multiple photos or videos, tap the  camera icon to open the camera again.
  • While capturing or recording multiple videos/photos, we need to click the selected items to see the send icon. 
  • You can edit images or trim videos in the preview screen or add a caption below if needed.
  • Tap the  send icon to send the files.

Sharing Other Files   ​

  • Open the chat where you want to share a file.
  • Tap the  attachment icon in the message bar.
  • From the options below, tap Files.
  • Select the file you want to share. 
  • You can edit them in the preview screen or add a caption below if needed.
  • Tap the  send icon to send the file.

  • Open the chat where you want to share a file.
  • Tap the  plus icon in the message bar.
  • From the options below, tap File.
  • Select the file you want to share.
  • Tap the Send to send the file.

Web
  • Open the chat where you want to share files.
  • Click the  attachment icon in the message bar.
  • Select and open one or more files.
    Alternatively, you can click the  plus icon on the preview screen to add more files from your computer.
  • You can edit them in the preview screen or add a caption below if needed.
  • Click the  send icon to send the files.

 How to Share Contacts

  • Open the chat where you want to share a contact.
  • Tap the  attachment icon in the message bar.
  • From the options, tap Contacts.
  • Select one or more contacts from your phone's contact list.
  • Tap the  send icon.

  • Open the chat where you want to share a contact.
  • Tap the  plus icon in the message bar.
  • From the options, tap Contacts.
  • Select a contact from your phone's contact list.
  • Tap Send.
