Location sharing
Share your location
Arattai lets you share locations in four different ways: Current Location, Pinned Location, Saved Location and Live Location. Each type serves a different use, from spontaneous updates to detailed trip coordination.
You can share or manage location on personal chats, groups, channels, broadcasts and pocket.
Prerequisites
- Your device must allow Arattai to access your location, set to "Always".
- A stable internet connection is required throughout the sharing duration for accurate live tracking.

1) Current Location
Share where you are right now, instantly.
Open any chat (group, personal, or a channel).
Tap the “+” icon on the left of the message bar.
Choose 
Location → Share your current location.
Your current location will be shared in the chat.
2) Pinned Location
Send a specific spot on the map.
Open any chat (group, personal, or a channel).
Tap the “+” icon on the left of the message bar.
Choose 
Location.
Move around the map and place the pin anywhere.
Tap Share your pinned location.
3) Saved Location
Keep your regular spots saved for one-tap access. Handy for trips, meetups, or the chai spot you always go to.
How to save a location?
1. From Chat Screen
Tap the “+” icon on the left of the message bar.
Choose 
Location → Saved locations → Add location.
You can search for your desired location using the 🔍 Search icon on the top right corner of the screen or pin the destination manually by moving around the map.
Tap Save.
Enter a title for the location (only you can see this title).
Hit Save.
2. From a Friend
When a friend shares their location, tap on it.
Click on the ⋮ three dot menu on the top right corner of your screen.
Select Save location.
Enter a title for the location.
Hit Save.
3. While Using ‘Till I reach’:
While sharing a live location, choose Till I reach.
Search a location or pin manually.
Tap on the ♡ Heart icon.
Enter a title for the location.
Hit Save.
You can save upto 25 locations and manage them anytime!
How to send a saved location:
Open any chat (group, personal, or channel).
Tap the “+” icon on the left of the message bar.
Choose 
Location → Saved locations.
Select a saved location.
Hit Share
The saved name/title is private - the recipient will only see the location on the map.
Manage saved locations:
Open any chat (group, personal, or channel).
Tap the “+” icon on the left of the message bar.
Choose 
Location.
Click Manage saved locations. This option will not be visible if you haven't saved any locations yet.
Click on the ⋮ three dots to Edit or Delete the saved locations
Tap the "+" icon to save a new location.
4) Live Location

What You Can View
Current and Pinned Locations
When someone sends a current or pinned location, it appears in your chat.
Click the shared message to open the location on the map.
You can view the location they sent.
Click on Get directions to navigate to their location on Google Maps.
Map Interface Overview
If the sender uses Till I reach. A tab on the top left corner of the map shows:
Their profile picture – clicking this takes you to their current location (while the live location is still active).
A pin with the destination address – clicking this jumps to their selected destination.
The connecting route line, updates live and gives you a clear path between their current position and endpoint.
Note: Sharing your location is currently not available on Arattai Web. To send your location, please use the Arattai mobile app.
