What is Meeting Chat
Meeting Chat allows participants to discuss and coordinate before, during, and shortly after a meeting.
It helps invitees stay informed about updates such as reschedules, agenda changes, and meeting-related discussions.
Meeting Chat keeps all meeting-related conversations in one place so everyone stays prepared and informed.
How to Enable Meeting Chat
Starting a chat during an ongoing meeting automatically creates a meeting chat. You can also enable Meeting Chat while scheduling a meeting.
Note: Meeting Chat is turned ON by default for all new meetings. You can turn it off while scheduling if you do not need it.
Why Use Meeting Chat
Meeting Chat helps participants:
Discuss meeting details before the meeting starts.
Share updates such as rescheduling information.
Coordinate agenda points.
Stay connected during the meeting.
Continue short follow-up discussions after the meeting.
This ensures everyone stays informed and prepared.
How Long Does Meeting Chat Stay Available
Meeting Chat is a temporary chat.
It remains active until 7 days after the meeting ends.
After 7 days, the Meeting Chat automatically expires.
Expired chats will no longer appear in the chat list or search.
However, expired Meeting Chats can still be accessed from the Meeting Info page.
This helps keep your chat list clean while still allowing access to past meeting discussions when needed.
Convert Meeting Chat to a Group
If you want to continue discussions beyond the meeting timeline, the host or co-host can convert the Meeting Chat into a permanent group.
Meeting Chats can be converted within 7 days of the meeting.
What Happens When Converted
The existing meeting chat is switched to a group.
All meeting participants who have an Arattai account are added to the group.
The chat becomes permanent.
Group members can continue conversations without expiry.
This is useful when ongoing collaboration is needed after the meeting.
Important Notes
Only the host or co-host can convert a Meeting Chat into a group.
While converting to a group, co-hosts and participants will be added based on their Add to Group privacy settings.
Guest participants will not be added to the group.
Once converted to a group, it cannot be changed back to a Meeting Chat.
The new group will continue independently of the meeting.
