Change Arattai Chat Background: Customise Wallpaper

Change Chat Background

You can personalise the look of your chats in Arattai by changing the chat background to a solid colour, wallpaper, or image from your gallery.

Prerequisites

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required to download and apply new wallpapers.
  • Permissions: Ensure the your device allows Arattai to access your Gallery to add photos to your chat background.

How to Change Chat Background 

Note
  • For groups and channels, only the admin can change the chat background. If an admin allows it, other members may also be able to change it.
  • The chat background you set for a group or channel will be visible to everyone in that chat.

For One Specific Chat

This lets you personalise the background for a specific chat. You can do this for One-on-one chats, meeting chat, pocket, groups and channels, as long as you’re the owner or an admin, or the admin has allowed this setting.
 
Setting a chat background is visible to:
  1. One-on-one chat: Visible only to you
  2. Groups: Visible to all the members of the group.
  3. Channels: Visible to you and all the subscribers.
  4. Meeting chat: Visible to you and all the other meeting attendees. 
  5. Pocket: Visible only to you.

  • Open any chat and tap the chat's name to view the profile.
  • Tap Chat background.
  • Select a background from the sections for Colours, Wallpapers, or Gallery.
  • After selecting, a preview screen will appear. 
  • Tap  tick icon to set the new background.
  • A confirmation dialog box will appear for groups and channels, tap Set to confirm.

  • Open any chat and tap the contact's name to view their profile.
  • Tap Chat background.
  • Select a background from the sections for Colours, Wallpapers, or Gallery.
  • After selecting, a preview screen will appear. 
  • Tap Apply to set the new background.
  • A confirmation dialog box will appear for groups and channels, tap Set to confirm.

For all Chats

Setting a background for all chats will not replace any individual chat backgrounds you’ve already customised. It changes only those without a personalised background.

  • Go to Settings → Appearance
  • Tap Chat background.
  • Select a background from the sections for Colours, Wallpapers, or Gallery.
  • After selecting, a preview screen will appear. 
  • Tap  tick icon to set the new background.

  • Select a background from the sections for Colours, Wallpapers, or Gallery.
  • After selecting, a preview screen will appear. 
  • Tap Apply to set the new background.

You can add effects to your chat background depending on your device:
  • Android  
    Doodle effect for Colour backgrounds
  • iOS  
    Doodle or Motion effects for Colour backgrounds
    Motion effects for Wallpapers and Gallery backgrounds
 

How to Revert to Default Chat Background  


If you have previously changed a chat's background, an option to revert to the default background will appear.

For One Specific Chat

  • Open the chat and tap on the name to view the profile.
  • Tap Chat background.
  • At the bottom of the screen, tap the Set default background option.
  • A preview screen will appear. 
  • Tap  to revert the background to the default.
  • A confirmation dialog box will appear for groups and channels, tap Set to confirm.
