Switch to a Business Account

If you already use Arattai with a personal account, you can convert it into a business account and keep your chats, contacts, and profile. You can also switch back to a personal account later.

Prerequisites

  1. Stable internet: A stable internet connection is required to convert your account.
  2. An existing personal Arattai account: Switching applies to a mobile number that already has a personal Arattai account.
  3. Arattai Business installed: Download Arattai Business from the Google Play Store (Android) or open it on the Web.

About Switching Your Account

Switching works in both directions. When you convert a personal account to a business account, your existing data comes with you. If you later switch back to a personal account, your personal data stays and business-specific data is removed after a grace period. You are always told that you can revert at any time.

How to Switch to a Business Account

Android
  1. Install and open Arattai Business app.
  2. Ensure to read the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
  3. Tap Agree and continue.
  4. On same device,
    1. You will be shown with information screen about switching to Business app with the same phone number.
    2. You will be having two options: Use same phone number and Use different phone number.
    3. On selecting "Use same phone number" you will be validated with the OTP.
    4. Navigates to Business profile setup.
    5. On selecting "Use different phone number" steps mentioned for different device will be followed.
  5. On different device,
    1. Enter the same mobile number as your business account and tap Continue.
    2. You will receive an OTP via SMS.
      The OTP will be valid for 15 minutes.
      If you face any issues or if the OTP expires, tap Resend to receive it again.
    3. Enter the 7 digit OTP and tap Verify.
    4. Review the information about converting to a business account and tap I understand.
    5. Navigates to Business profile setup.
Once done, Your account will be continued as business account and you can revert to personal account at any time.

What Transfers to Your Business Account

Your existing data is carried over when you convert: Chats, Channels, Groups, Profile name and bio, Username.

How to Switch Back to a Personal Account

Android
  1. Install and open Arattai app.

  1. Will I lose my chats and contacts when I switch to a business account?

    If on the same device - Your chats, channels, groups, profile name, bio, and username all transfer to your business
    account.
    If on the different device - Depends on your backup history data will be restored.

    Yes, at any time, by installing Arattai messenger app you can switch back personal account.

  1. What happens to my business data if I switch back?

    Your personal data is retained. Business-specific data is kept for a 90-day grace period and then deleted.

  1. Do I need a new mobile number to register as a business?

          No, you convert using the same mobile number as your personal account.
