Start a New Chat on Arattai: Message Friends Securely

Start a Chat

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required for smooth functioning.
  • Permissions: Ensure your device allows Arattai to access your Contacts.
 

How to Start a New Chat  

You can start a new chat in Arattai in two primary ways: by selecting from your existing phone contacts or searching by a user's Arattai username.

From Your Contacts  

This method allows you to initiate a chat with anyone already in your phone's contact list who is also an Arattai user.

  • Tap the ＋plus icon at the bottom right of your Chats screen.
  • A list of your Arattai contacts will appear.
  • Tap on the contact you wish to chat with.
  • The chat screen for that contact will open, and you can now send messages.

iOS
  • Tap the＋plus icon at the bottom right of your Chats screen.
  • A list of your Arattai contacts will appear.
  • Tap on the contact you wish to chat with.
  • The chat screen for that contact will open, and you can now send messages.

Web
  • Click the ＋plus icon on the top right of your chat list.
  • Click New message or call.
  • Your contacts will appear.
  • Click on the contact you wish to chat with.
  • The chat screen for that contact will open, and you can now send messages.

Searching by Username  

If you know a user's Arattai username, you can start a chat with them directly, even if they are not in your phone contacts.
  • Find the global search bar at the top of your chat list.
  • Type the username you are looking for.
  • Search results will appear. 
  • Open the Profiles section.
  • Their profile will appear here.
  • Tap or click on the profile. 
  • The chat screen for that user will open, and you can now send messages.
