Arattai uses visual identity signals, called badges, on profiles and channels. A badge gives other people more context about an account and helps tell different kinds of accounts apart. Some badges are granted by Arattai after a manual review.
About Badges on Arattai
Arattai runs one verification program with three badges. Here is what each one means.
1. Blue badge
The blue badge means that Arattai has reviewed an account and confirmed it is authentic. It can represent an individual, such as a notable public figure, creator, or journalist, or any person who wants to confirm they are real. It can also represent a channel, such as a brand, a registered business, a media house, or a non profit. You can read who is eligible in the Blue badge sections below.
2. Grey badge
The grey badge means that an account represents an official government or multilateral organization, a senior representative of one, or a channel owned by a government body or public sector undertaking. It signals an authentic official source. Political campaign accounts are not eligible.
The Blue Badge
Blue Badge for Individuals
This badge is open to notable public figures, creators, and journalists, and to any individual who simply wants to confirm that their account is authentic.
Who can apply
You have an active Arattai account that has been used within the past 30 days.
Your profile uses your real name and a profile photo.
Your display name and photo match the identity document you submit.
Your account is not the subject of an unusual volume of reports or blocks, which we treat as a possible sign of impersonation.
Note: A clear bio is not required, but it helps your application. If you are a notable applicant, we also look for evidence of your public presence, such as an official website, established press coverage, or links from accounts that are already verified on other platforms.
What you need to submit
Identity document. One unexpired government photo ID. In India this can be your Aadhaar, PAN, Indian passport, or Voter ID. Outside India, use the local equivalent.
Corroboration (notable applicants only). At least two supporting references, for example an official website, three to five genuine press citations from the past 12 months, or links from your verified accounts on other platforms.
About press citations Citations should come from reputable, independent publications and be published within the last 12 months. The coverage should be editorial and should meaningfully reference your work, achievements, position, or public role. Sponsored content, paid placements, press releases, self published articles, and publications you or your representatives control are not accepted.
Important
Only one badge is issued per person. Duplicate accounts and parody accounts are not eligible.
Your verified profile shows a Verified since date with the month and year you were verified.
If your application is rejected, you can reapply after 15 days.
This badge is reviewed every two years. We will remind you through the Arattai Alerts Chat one month, seven days, and one day before it is due.
Blue Badge for Channels
This badge is for brands, registered businesses, media houses, non profits, creators, and other active channels.
Who can apply
Your channel has at least 100 followers.
Your channel has been active for at least 30 days and posts on a regular basis, on average at least once a week.
Your channel is not the subject of an unusual volume of reports.
Note: If you are a brand or a media house, we also look for evidence of your public presence, namely three to five genuine press citations from the past 12 months. If a channel administrator already holds a personal Blue badge, that is given extra weight during review.
What you need to submit
Legal identity. A Certificate of Incorporation, Trademark Certificate, GSTIN certificate, or corporate PAN. The entity name and address must match your channel profile.
Corporate email. Confirmation of the administrator corporate email address. This applies to corporate and similar organizations.
Reciprocal presence. A link or QR code on your official website that points to the channel, plus links from at least two of your other verified social profiles.
Important
Once your channel is verified, its unique name, display name, and display picture are locked. Changing any of them starts a new review.
If your application is rejected, you can reapply after 15 days once the gaps are corrected.
Channels do not show a Verified since date.
Channels do not need periodic renewal.
