Once your account has been verified using Aadhaar, you can view your verification status, re-verify, or remove your verification at any time from Settings.
How to View Your Verification Status
To see your current verification status, including the date your verification was completed:
Verification Expiry
Your Aadhaar verification is valid for 2 years from the date it was completed. After 2 years, your verification status will automatically change to Expired and your Green Verified badge will be removed.
Arattai will send you reminders before your verification expires, 30 days, 5 days and 1 day before expiry. You can re-verify at any time before or after expiry to keep your badge active.
How to Delete Your Verification
You can remove your Aadhaar verification from your account at any time.
After deletion, your Green Verified badge will be removed and your account will show as unverified. You will be able to re-verify after 30 days. This cool down is in place to protect the trust and security of the Arattai community.
What Can Affect Your Verification Badge
Your verification badge may be removed automatically in certain situations:
Editing your name - If you update your display name with special characters, emojis, or with any name that doesn't match your Aadhar, your verification will be removed. Before saving a name change, Arattai will show a caution prompt explaining this. You can choose to continue and re-verify, or cancel to keep your badge.
Verification expiry - Verification automatically expires after 2 years. Re-verifying will restore your badge.
Recently Removed or Expired Verification
If your verification was removed or expired in the last 30 days, other users viewing your profile may see a hint indicating that your account was recently verified but is no longer active. This hint disappears after 30 days.
