Global Search in Arattai allows you to find anything across your entire app. It provides a quick way to search all your conversations.
Prerequisites
What Global Search Can Find
Global Search enables you to search across a variety of content:
Conversations: Search for any of your existing conversations, including direct messages, groups, channels, pocket, broadcasts, meeting chats, and system chats.
Contacts: Find people in your phone’s contact list, even if you haven't chatted with them yet.
Messages: Search for a specific message within your private conversations and joined channels.
Channels: Discover and search for public channels you have joined.
Arattai Invitations: Find and invite contacts from your device to Arattai. (Only on Android)
How Search Results are Organised
When you perform a search, the results are organized into distinct categories to make it easy to find what you're looking for. The results are displayed in the following order:
Chats & Contacts: This section shows your existing direct messages, groups, and channels. If your search matches a contact who is not yet in your chat history, they will also appear here.
Invite to Arattai: This section provides an option to invite contacts from your device who are not yet on Arattai.
Messages: This section displays message-level results from all messages throughout the app.
Using Search Filters
At the top of the search results page, you can select from different filters to narrow your search.
Conversations (default view): This filter shows all relevant results from your chats, contacts, and messages.
Public Channels: This filter allows you to search for any public channels on Arattai. Minimum 3 characters are required for this search.
How to Use Global Search
Tap the
search icon or click the search bar at the top of your chat list. Type your search query into the search bar.
The results will be displayed instantly, organized into the categories mentioned above.
Tap on the result to navigate to the particular chat.
