About Chat List Filters

Chat List Filters allows you to sort and organise your conversations, making it easier to find specific chat types like direct messages, groups, or channels. An Unread filter can then be applied on top of these filters to refine your view further.

About Chat Filters  

Chat filters are a set of tabs displayed across the top of your chat list. They help you quickly navigate a busy list of conversations by filtering specific types of chats, such as direct messages, group chats, or channels, allowing you to focus on the messages that matter most at any moment. 
Chat list filters are enabled by default. They can be disabled anytime in Settings - Enable or Disable Chat List Filters.

Available Chat Filters  

The Chat list filters are displayed as tabs across the top of your chat list. There is also a distinct filter icon for viewing unread messages.

How to View Unread Chats  

The Unread filter is a secondary filter that works on top of your currently selected Chat list filter, allowing for targeted views of unread messages.
  • Select your desired Chat Filter Tab (Chats, Direct, Groups, or Channels).
  • Locate the  filter icon near the main filter tabs.
  • Tap or click the filter icon.
  • The chat list will update to show only those conversations that match both the selected Chat list filter tab and have unread messages.
  • To clear the Unread filter, tap the filter icon again.

1. Where can I find the Chat List Filters in the Arattai app?  
The Chat List Filters are located as tabs across the top of your main Chats screen.
2. Does the "Chats" filter include Channels?  
No. The Chats filter includes Direct Chats and Groups only. To view Channels, you must tap the dedicated Channelsfilter tab.
3. How to see only unread messages?  
To see only unread messages, tap the separate  filter icon located near the main filter tabs at the top of your chat list.
4. How do I remove the Unread filter?  
To clear the Unread filter and return to the complete list for your currently selected Chat list filter tab, tap the  filter icon again.
