Starting in 2026, you will be able to connect with businesses who use Arattai Business Platform (Beta) to provide their services directly in Arattai. This guide helps you understand how to identify these Business Accounts, how to use their services, and how you stay in control of your privacy.
Recognizing a Business Account
Not every chat is a business chat. You can easily identify an official Arattai Business Account by looking at :
Business Profile Details: You can view key information such as the business's location, address, working hours, and official website links directly in their profile.
Chat Features: Features like Voice Calls, Video Calls, and adding the account to Groups or Meetings are not currently supported for these accounts.
Messaging & Interactions
Business Accounts can communicate with you to provide support, updates, or offers.
How a Business Can Contact You
A business cannot message you out of the blue. They can only send you a message if:
You messaged them first on Arattai.
You gave them explicit consent (e.g., via their website or store) to contact you on Arattai, and they have your phone number.
You interacted with one of their Mini Apps inside Arattai.
Types of Messages
These messages can contain text, images, videos, or files. The content usually falls into one of these categories:
Support: Replies to your questions.
Transactions: Ticket bookings, status updates, or receipts.
Authentication: OTPs or login confirmations.
Promotions: Product launches or upcoming offers.
Controlling What You Receive
Turn off Promotions: If you want transaction updates and OTPs but not marketing, go to the Business Profile and toggle off "Offers and Promotions."
Block: If you do not want any messages, you can block the account entirely.
Using Mini Apps
Mini Apps are small applications built by businesses inside Arattai. They let you do things like book tickets, check order status, or schedule appointments without leaving the chat.
Data Permissions & Consent
Some Mini Apps might ask for your Arattai Profile Name and/or Phone Number to provide a better user experience.
Mandatory vs. Optional: Some business Mini Apps require this data to function, while others let you choose. If it is optional, you can decline sharing and still use the app.
Reviewing Policies: Before you agree, you can review the business's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy right on the consent screen. This helps you understand exactly how that particular business will handle your data.
How Your Consent Works
60-Day Validity: Once you grant permission, it remains active for 60 days. You won't be asked to approve the request again every time you use the app during this period.
Automatic Reset: After 60 days, your permissions will automatically clear. The next time you use the app, you will be asked to confirm your consent again.
Privacy & Safety Controls
You are always in charge of your data. You can review which businesses have access to your details at any time.
Managing Permissions
You can remove access for a specific business in two ways:
Business Profile: Go to the specific business chat, tap their profile, and scroll down to "Manage Permissions."
Global Settings: Navigate to Settings > Privacy and Security > Business Permissions. Here, you can see and edit the full list of businesses that have access to your Name or Phone Number.
Note:
The Manage Permissions section appears only if you have shared data with that business.
If you modify your permissions, the 60-day validity period is automatically reset and extended for another 60 days.
Reporting Safety Issues
If you encounter a business acting suspiciously:
Report: You can report a business account or a specific message for spam or scams. [Link to Reporting Guide]
Block: You can block the business immediately to stop all interactions. [Link to Blocking Guide]
