React to a Message

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required to send and view reactions.

How to React to a Message

You can use quick reactions or add reactions to a message manually by choosing any emoji.

Android
  • Touch and hold on the message you want to react to.
  • A menu of frequently used emojis will appear.
    To add a new reaction, tap  add reaction icon to view the emoji board.
  • Tap the emoji you want to use as a reaction.
  • Your reaction will appear below the message.
    Tap the reacted emoji to remove the reaction.

iOS
  • Touch and hold on the message you want to react to.
  • A menu of frequently used emojis will appear.
    To add a new reaction, tap  add reaction icon to view the emoji board.
  • Tap the emoji you want to use as a reaction.
  • Your reaction will appear below the message.
    Tap the reacted emoji to remove the reaction.

Web
  • Place your cursor over the message you want to react to.
  • Click the  add reaction icon that appears next to the message.
  • A menu of emojis will appear.
  • Click the emoji you want to use as a reaction.
  • Your reaction will appear below the message.
    Click the reacted emoji to remove the reaction.

 
Note: 
  • Messages can have up to 50 reactions.
  • The sender is notified when you react to their message.
  • Group Chats :
    • Admins can enable or disable reactions in Group Settings.
    • If reactions are turned off, all existing reactions are hidden and new ones can't be added.
  • Channels :
    • Admins can enable or disable reactions in Channel Settings.
    • If disabled, all reactions are hidden and new ones are blocked.
    • Message reactions in channels may be limited by the admins.
    • Users can react to a message using the emojis present in the posted message.
    • Admins can also set up to 20 specific emojis for subscribers to use.
