Pin important messages in any chat.

Pin a Message

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required to pin and unpin messages.

How to Pin a Message

  • Touch and hold the message you want to pin.
  • In the menu that appears, tap Pin message.
  • A dialog box will appear asking for confirmation. You can choose to notify the other person or the group.
  • Tap Pin to confirm.
  • Choose the duration for which you want the message to be pinned.
  • Tap Save.
  • The message will now be pinned to the top of the chat.
  • A  pin icon will appear near the pinned message.

iOS
  • Touch and hold the message you want to pin.

  • Place your cursor over the message you want to pin.
  • Click the ⋯ more menu icon that appears next to the message.
  • Click Pin message.
  • Choose the duration for which you want the message to be pinned.
  • Choose to notify the other person or the group.
  • Click Pin.
  • The message will now be pinned to the top of the chat.
  • A  pin icon will appear on the pinned message.

Note: 
  • Messages can't be pinned in broadcasts.
  • Messages can be pinned in Channels only by admins.
  • Participants of a group can pin a message if the admin allows the action.

 How to Unpin a Message

  • Tap the  icon on the pinned message at the top of the chat.
  • In the menu that appears, tap Unpin message.
  • A confirmation dialog box will appear. Tap Unpin.
  • The message will no longer be pinned.
    Alternatively, you can long press the message in the chat to unpin it.

  • Tap the  icon on the pinned message at the top of the chat.
  • In the menu that appears, tap Unpin message.
  • A confirmation will be asked. Tap Unpin message.
  • The message will no longer be pinned.
    Alternatively, you can long press the message in the chat to unpin it.

Web
  • Click the  icon in the pinned message at the top of the chat to unpin. 
  • Or, place the cursor on the pinned message.
  • Click the ⋯ more menu icon that appears next to the message.
  • Click Unpin message.
  • The message will no longer be pinned.

  • Tap View message.
  • You will be taken to the message's original location in the chat.

  • Click the pinned message banner at the top of the chat.
  • You will be taken to the message's original location in the chat.

 How to Change the Pinned Message Duration

  • Tap the  icon in the pinned message banner at the top of the chat.
  • Tap Time left.
  • Choose a time duration.
  • Tap Save to confirm.
  • The pinned message duration will now be updated.
