Mute a channel

Mute a channel

 

Muting a channel allows you to stay in the conversation without receiving notifications. This is useful when you want to check updates at your convenience without interruptions. You will still be able to access the channel and view new messages, but you won’t receive alerts for them.

 

Here's how you can mute a channel based on your device:

  1. In the channel you want to mute, tap Mute channel at the bottom of the screen. This will only be available to channel subscribers (non-admins). You can also tap and select Mute.

  2. Choose the duration for which you would like to mute the channel's notifications:1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 1 week, or Forever.

  3. You can also mute the channel by:
    - Navigating to the channel info page by tapping on the name of the channel and selecting Mute.

    - Long pressing on the channel in your main chat list and selecting
    Mute.

  4. To unmute the channel, follow the same steps and select Unmute instead.


iOS
  1. In the channel you want to mute, tap MUTE CHANNEL at the bottom of the screen. This will only be available to channel subscribers (non-admins). You can also tap and select Mute.

  2. You can also click on Channel info, select Mute channel, and choose the duration for which you would like to mute the channel's notifications:1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 1 week, or Forever.
  3. Alternatively, you can also mute the channel from your main chat list by clicking the icon next to the name of the channel and selecting Mute.

  4. To unmute the channel, follow the same steps and select Unmute instead.


 Thus, muting a channel helps you stay connected without constant notifications, allowing you to check updates at your own pace. You will still have full access to the channel and can unmute it anytime if you want to start receiving alerts again.
