Manage Participant Tags in Groups - Admins

Group admins can:
  •  Add, edit, or remove any participant’s tag 
  • Control whether participants can manage their own tags - Add tag for yourself.

How to Enable or Disable Participant Tags

  • Open group chat 
  • Tap group name 
  • Tap Group settings
  • Toggle Add participant tag ON or OFF

  • Open group chat 
  • Click group name 
  • Click Permissions
  • Toggle Add participant tag ON or OFF 

What Happens When Disabled  

  • Existing tags remain visible 
  • Participants cannot add, edit or delete their tags 
  • Only admins can manage tags 
  • Users will see:
    "This tag is managed by admins"

  • Open the group chat 
  • Tap the group name 
  • Scroll to the participants list
  • Long press a participant 
  • Tap Add participant tag or Edit participant tag
  • Type the tag and tap Save

  • Type the tag and tap Save

  • Click the group name 
  • Click Participants
  • Click More options ⋯ next to participant 
  • Select Add participant tag or Edit participant tag
  • Type the tag and Click Save

How to Delete Tags of Other Participants

  • Scroll to the participants list
  • Long press a participant 
  • Tap Edit participant tag
  • Tap  delete icon
  • A confirmation dialog box will appear 
  • Tap Delete to confirm

Note: If a user leaves the group, their participant tag will be removed.
