Message reactions

Message reactions in Arattai make conversations more fun and expressive! You can react to messages in 1-on-1 chats, group chats, and channels using emojis.

React to a message  

You can easily add emoji reactions to messages in 1-on-1 chats, group chats, and channels. Here's how:

  1. Long-press on the message and tap on the reaction icon .

    Select the emoji you want to react with. 

  2.  Double tap on the message to react with a 👍 (Default). To change the default emoji that will be used when you double tap on a message from 👍 to ❤️ , navigate to Settings > Personalize > Quick reaction and select  ❤️.

  3. You can add more reactions to a message by tapping on  next to the existing reactions and adding more.

In 1-on-1 and group chats, you can see who reacted to a message and when by simply long-pressing on the emoji(s) below the message. This will show details like who used which emojis and the time they reacted. You can also long-press on a message and tap ‘View reactions’ to see the full list of reactions and timestamps.

Remove a reaction  

Want to undo a reaction? Simply tap on the emoji, and it will be removed instantly.

You can then react again with a different emoji if needed!

Admin controls for reactions 

  1. Admins of group chats can enable or disable reactions through the group settings. Turning off reactions will hide all past reactions in the group and will not allow group members to add new reactions. To manage reactions as a group admin, tap on the group's name in the chat window > Group settings > Add reactions.

  2. Admins of channels can enable or disable reactions through the channel settings. Turning off reactions will hide all past reactions in the channel and will not allow subscribers to add new reactions. Admins can also set a list of up to 20 specific emojis that subscribers can use to react to messages in the channel. To manage reactions as a channel admin, tap on the channel's name in the chat window > Channel settings > Reactions.
