Manage Chat Notifications

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required for timely delivery of notifications.
  • Device Permissions: Ensure your device allows Arattai to send you notifications.

Accessing Notification Settings  

All your notifications can be managed in one place.

  • Tap the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Go to Settings→Notifications.
  • You can control all notifications here.

iOS
  • Go to SettingsNotifications & Sounds.
  • You can control all notifications here.

Web
  • Click the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Go to Settings→Notifications.
  • You can control all notifications here.

 

How to Enable or Disable Chat Notifications 

You can enable or disable chat notifications for:
  1. Direct Messages
  2. Group Messages
Note: Notification settings do not sync across multiple devices and are managed independently.

Direct Messages

  • Tap the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Go to Settings→Notifications.
  • You will find a toggle switch next to Direct messages.
  • Toggle it On or Off.

iOS
  • Go to SettingsNotifications & Sounds.
  • Under the Direct Messages & Mentions section, there will be a Show notification option.
  • You will find a toggle switch next to it.
  • Toggle it On or Off.

Web
  • Click the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Go to Settings→Notifications.
  • Under the Desktop notifications section, there will be a Direct messages option.
  • You will find a toggle switch next to it.
  • Toggle it On or Off.

  • You will find a toggle switch next to it.
  • Toggle it On or Off.

FAQs  

1. Can I manage chat notifications separately on mobile and web?
Yes. Notification settings on mobile devices and web are managed independently. Changes made on one device do not automatically apply to others.


2. Do notification settings affect mentions in group chats?
Mentions follow the same notification rules as regular messages. If group notifications are turned off, mention notifications will also be muted.


3. Will disabling notifications affect calls or other alerts?
No. Chat notification settings apply only to message alerts. Call notifications and other system alerts are not affected by this.
