Encrypted backups protect your chats using a backup key or recovery code. This information is required to access your encrypted backup and restore your chats on a new device.
Note:
Arattai can’t reset your backup key or recovery code. If you don’t have this information and don’t have access to your primary device, your encrypted backup can’t be restored.
How to Change Your Backup Key
You can create a new backup key even if you don’t remember your existing one, as long as you’re signed in to Arattai on a device.
The new key will be used for future backups.
Recovery codes can’t be changed.
How to Turn Off Encrypted Backups
If you’re unable to use your backup key or recovery code, you can turn off encrypted backups.
You can enable encrypted backups again at any time.
Backup key attempts
You can try entering your backup key or recovery code up to 5 times. After 5 incorrect attempts, you’ll need to wait before trying again.
If you don’t restore your backup
