Prerequisites  

  • Latest Version: Ensure your app is updated to the latest version to set a custom time.

About Dark Mode

Arattai offers four distinct ways to manage your dark mode setting:
  • Enable always: This keeps the dark theme active at all times, regardless of the device settings.
  • Scheduled: This allows the app to switch between light and dark themes automatically based on time.
    • Use local sunset & sunrise (Android): The app uses your location data to activate Dark mode at sunset and deactivate it at sunrise.
    • Custom time: You can manually set a specific start and end time for Dark mode.
  • Sync with device settings: The app will automatically match whatever theme (Light or Dark) you have set in your phone's system settings.
  • Disable: This keeps the light theme active at all times, regardless of your device settings. 

How to Enable Dark Mode

  • Tap the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Find the Night mode option.
  • Toggle it On to enable it and toggle it Off to disable it.

  • Tap the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Go to Settings→Appearance
  • You will find a Night mode section with four options.
  • Select one of the four options: Enable always, Scheduled, Sync with device setting (default), or Disable.
  • If you select Scheduled, choose between Use local sunset & sunrise or tap From and To to set a custom time.
    • Use local sunset & sunrise - toggle it On to enable it and toggle it Off to disable it.
    • Custom time - tap on the From time shown, move the hands to choose a time or tap the  edit icon to type the time. Choose between AM or PM, and tap OK. Follow the same for the To option and set an end time. 

iOS
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap on Chats.
  • You will find an Appearance section with four options.
  • Select one of the four options: Enable always, Scheduled, Sync with device setting (default), or Disable. 
  • If you select Scheduled, choose your custom time. 
    • Tap From to set start time and To to set end time.
    • Choose your preferred time and tap Done.

Web
  • Click the  more menu on the Chats screen.
  • Find the Dark mode option.
  • Toggle it On to enable it and toggle it Off to disable it.
    Alternatively, go to Settings → Appearance and choose On or Off (default) under Dark Mode.


FAQs  

1. Can Dark Mode follow my device’s system theme?
Yes. When you select Sync with device setting, Arattai automatically matches your device’s light or dark theme.

2. Is Dark Mode available on all platforms?
Yes. Dark Mode is available on Android, iOS, and Web. However, scheduling options are available only on mobile devices.

3. Will changing Dark Mode settings affect my other devices?
No. Appearance settings are device-specific and must be configured separately on each device.
