Create a Story

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: A stable internet connection is required for uploading stories.
  • Permissions: Ensure your device allows access to your CameraMicrophone and Photo gallery to capture or upload stories. 

About Stories  

Arattai Stories provide a creative way to share temporary updates, photos, videos, or text with your friends, family, and connections. Stories remain visible for only 24 hours from the time they are posted, giving you the perfect window to share your favourite moments. 
  • Visibility Duration: Stories are active for only 24 hours from the time they are posted.
  • Video Length Limit: Videos up to 90 seconds are supported. Videos longer than that are automatically trimmed to fit the story duration limit.
  • Caption Character Limit: Captions must be within the 700 character limit.
 
Note: Story uploads are only supported on mobile applications.

Posting a Text-Based Story
  • Go to Stories screen.
  • Select the  edit icon.
  • Type in the desired text.
  • You can customise the background colour and font
  • Tap  tick icon to post the story.

Posting a Photo or Video Story
  • Go to Stories screen.
  • Tap the  camera icon.
  • Tap the capture button to take a photo. Tap and hold it to record a video.
  • To upload an existing photo or video, tap the gallery box on the bottom left to select from your existing galleryTo select a single item, tap on it. To select multiple items, you have two options:
    • Tap a single media, then tap the  add media icon on the preview screen to go back to your gallery. You can now select multiple items. Tap  Next to continue.
    • Alternatively, tap and hold on a media to enter multi-select mode. 
  • Add a caption by typing it at the bottom.
  • You can edit a story using the image editing tools.
  • You can mute videos or trim them using the slider above.
  • Tap the  share icon to post the story.

From chats and channels:
  • Long press on the text, image, video, or link you wish to share.
  • Select Forward, choose multiple if needed.
  • Tap  forward icon.
  • Select My stories and tap the  share icon.  

From other external apps:
  • Select the text, image, or video in the external app.
  • Choose the Arattai app from your device’s sharing options.
  • Tap My stories, review the story, and share it.

1. What types of content can I share in an Arattai Story?
You can share any combination of text-based updates, photos, or videos captured live or selected from your device's gallery.
 
2. Where do I find the Stories feature in the Arattai app?
The Stories section is located on the bottom navigation bar of the Arattai mobile application, it is represented with this icon .
 
3. How long does an Arattai Story remain visible?
Arattai Stories are temporary and remain active and visible for 24 hours from the time they are posted.
 
4. Are there size or length limits for videos and captions?
Yes. Videos longer than 90 seconds are automatically trimmed, and captions are limited to 700 characters.
 
5. What should I do if my story upload fails?
Upload failures are usually due to network connectivity or an unsupported file format.
Recovery Steps:
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  • If the issue persists, restart the app and attempt the upload again.
