Use Arattai on Android TV for Calls and Meetings

Arattai Android TV App

Simple and seamless communication, on a larger screen.
Host or join meetings and make 1-on-1 calls with your friends and family right from your TV using the Arattai TV app. Arattai TV makes staying connected effortless. Bring every conversation to life!

Prerequisites  

  • Stable Internet: You must have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data).
  • Requirements: Your TV must be running a minimum Android 7 OS version support.
  • Account: The Arattai TV app must be signed in (using the mobile app scan or web verification) to make calls or attend meetings. 
  • Permissions: Ensure that Arattai has access to your built in or external microphone and camera.

App Installation and Sign-In  

  • Installation: 
    • Go to the Google Play store on your Home TV, search for "Arattai".
    • Click Install to download the app. 
  • Sign-In:
    • Go to the Arattai app on your TV and select Sign In.
    • Open the Arattai mobile app, go to Settings > Devices & sessions, and scan the QR code displayed on your TV.
    • Alternatively, visit Arattai TV site on your mobile/web browser, enter the code, and click Verify.
    • A consent screen will appear, review the details and confirm to proceed.
 
Note: 
During a call, you can turn off the audio or video if required.
You will only receive an incoming 1-1 call when the Arattai TV app is open and active.
  • Both 1-1 calls and Meetings support screen sharing.
  • Wireless Screen share from TV is yet to be supported.
  • Meeting branding (if applied) will appear on the TV app during scheduled meetings for a consistent look. 

Compatible Devices and OS  

  • Minimum OS:Android 7 OS support is required.

How to Make a 1-1 Call 

Calling a Frequent or Recently Contacted User
  • From the home screen, go to the Frequently contacted or Recently contacted users list.
  • Select the user to whom you wish to call.
  • A screen with the contact details will appear.
  • Select Call to start an instant video call.
 
Calling an Unlisted Contact (via Search)
  • Navigate to the Search option, which is present at the end of the Frequently Contacted list.
  • Search for the user from your contacts list and select them.
  • A screen with the contact details will appear.
  • Select Call to start an instant video call.
 

How to Handle an Incoming Call

  • When you receive an incoming call, a popup will appear on your screen (only if the app is open).
  • You can choose to either Accept or Decline the call.
  • If the call is missed, it will be listed under Recently Contacted as a Missed Call.

How to Join an Ongoing Meeting

  • You will find a list of all ongoing meetings on the home screen.
  • Select the meeting you want to join and click on Join meeting.
  • A screen will appear with options to turn on/off your audio/video before joining.
  • Click Join meeting to enter.
  • To leave the meeting, click Leave and confirm by selecting Leave again on the prompt.

How to Start an Upcoming Meeting (Host)

  • Go to the Scheduled section in the left sidebar.
  • Select the upcoming meeting that you have scheduled.
  • Click on Start meeting.
  • A screen will appear with options to turn on/off your audio/video before starting.
  • Click Start meeting to begin.
  • To end the meeting, click End and confirm by selecting End again on the prompt.

How to View Recorded Meetings

  • To view your meeting recordings, go to the Recordings section in the left sidebar.
